Dear Captain,
Due to the current course conditions and the weather forecast for the next 7 days, the Exec Committee has decided to postpone the Spring Meeting golf event. We will announce an alternative date as soon as we can. Those who have paid their fee will be refunded, either directly or through a credit for an upcoming event and we will be in touch very soon to organise that. It is disappointing to report that, despite the deadline for payment having passed yesterday, 17 Captains still have not paid.
Despite the postponement of the golf, the President’s Committee has determined that Somerset Golf Captains must have elected Officers for 2024 in place before our season starts with the away match at Oxfordshire on April 17th. The AGM will therefore still be held on 11th April at Enmore Park at the new time of 1100. Tea and Coffee will be provided by SGC on arrival.
Despite the disappointing golf postponement forced on us by the record-breaking rainfall, we really need you to support Somerset Golf Captains by attending the AGM at which our revised Constitution will be voted on. Enmore Park is centrally placed in the county and will be no more than an hour away for the vast majority of you. We also hope that some holes will be open and that we can arrange some social golf after the AGM so please bring your golf gear along and catch up with your golf friends from across Somerset.
Our new Apparel for 2024 will be on display at Enmore Park and available to try for size – we will be taking orders for the start of the season. This includes new golf tops instead of woollen jumpers, new wind jackets and new caps and we will be selling off all of our old stock of knitwear at a fraction of the original cost to make way for our new stock lines. Anything left after April 11th will be recycled and donated to charity. This event will be the last chance to grab a bargain – another very good reason to come along.
We apologise for the disruption that the weather has caused but we really hope to see you at Enmore Park for the AGM. Even if you were not originally coming to the Spring Meeting please try and support the AGM.
